When the pain is at its worst, I sometimes remember that Jesus called HImself “a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief”. Reading Isaiah 53 (one of the Old Testament books of the Bible) can be a great comfort. Another comfort is a sermon by Timothy Keller “How to Deal with Dark Times”, which is based on Psalm 88. I can’t count the number of times I have run back to that teaching for comfort. Praying that in your distress, you will experience God’s comfort. He cares. He made you with such precision and care. You, alone of all the world, were created to reflect an aspect of God’s character that no other person in the history of mankind can do. That’s how dear you are to your Creator. I want to encourage you to reach out to God. If you are truly searching for Him, He will draw you to Himself. May God’s blessings and peace be upon you today!
